In my life, I had so many dreams and visions about the kingdom
of God. I can’t explain all of them here. All this happened around
the year 1991 but there is some thing that l can't foget , my hand had a red sport that took a year before it displayed
and with this hand l could not use it for eating or use it when greeting some body. When l tried to beat a children
the voice could come back to me and say " this hand is for my work" By the 1991, I had a supper market business
at Busia Kenya. According to the area where the business was situated, it was a busy supermarket. Every
morning, before opening it up, I could hear a voice telling me to pray. In many cases, I could open the shop and closed myself
inside and prayed. Many people lost interest in my business. Some where a fear of me and some wher e thinking that l had demons.
One night, as I was sleeping, I heard a voice telling me to call on
the name of Jesus. The first and second time, my husband heard. The third time, I called on the name of Jesus with a loud
voice, and I saw a very bright light opening and when I looked in the bright light, I saw Jesus. The light had opened the
roof of the house. I woke up in great fear and hid under the bed. At that moment, my husband didn’t know what he could
do next. My children were all in great fear and crying, thinking that, I was dead. Then, My husband pulled
me out from under the bed and put me on the bed. A few minutes later, I saw the walls of the house opening, the bright light
flashed and I got up and started running around the house. As I entered the sitting room, I saw all the walls opening. In
a flash bright light, I saw Jesus coming to me. But I couldn’t stand seeing that. So, I got up and kept on shouting
for help. At around 7.00 a.m, my husband called the pastor and all prayed to God to open up the doors for His word.
I got back to my normal being.
My husband told me to stay home. So, he went to Kisumu. later the
light came back. I ran out of the house so that I could not die alone inside the house. I got a cloth over my head and got
out of the house and ran to the supermarket. The light returned and I took off, forgetting my child inside the shop. Just
as I got out a white shaped thing in form of snow dropped from above in front of me and spread powder, which blinded my eyes.
I couldn’t see anything. My legs grew powerless and I dropped down face up in the supermarket. People
around that place called the pastor and other church members to pray for me. Pastor took me back home and l got
better. From that time, I began fellowshipping with other church members.
In 1993, the vision came to me again. I didn’t know what I
could do with such dreams until 1994 when it happened the third time. This time, I approached my pastor Rev. Tom Omollo who
together with other church members put me in their prayers. The Pastor could always tell me that there was a mission for me
from God. In 1995 I got a problem concerning my own family. I began to pray. As I was praying one day, I got deep in prayer
and begun speaking different tongues, This time, I heard a voice which I knew was God’s own voice. He was asking me.
“Why do you want me to assisit you with your children while mine are suffering this way and yet you cannot intervene”?
One evening in 1996, as I was closing my business premises after
the day’s work, I found a street boy squatting in the doorway. I just closed the door and left without minding him.
On my way home, I heard a voice, which I had heard the past years calling and asking me as to why I had left that boy behind.
When that voice returned I was perturbed. My husband asked whether there was something wrong. I asked him to help me with
my bible so that I could go back to the supermarket and pick the boy. I went back and picked the boy and took him to my home
and gave him food and shelter. In the morning, I found out that the boy had jiggers in fingers and feet. His clothes had white
lice in them and black ones in his hair. My husband told me that, since I had given food to the boy, I could let him go back
to the streets. At this moment, I heard something heavy in my heart and I cried. After that, I told my husband to go to the
supermarket and promised him that I was going to chase the boy away. When my husband left, I shaved the boy’s head and
bathed him, got my children’s clothes on him and burnt the clothes that had lice in them. After doing all this, my heart
got a better feeling. The heavy load had left. I went to our supermarket but I kept the boy around. Seven days later, two
other children came directly to my house. They had left their homes because they were being abused. This is how I started
caring for the children.
For two years I concentrated on the three children I had. In 1998
I felt the need to help others also. The number of needy children had risen dramatically, as AIDS continued to wipe out many
of the parents. By the year 2000, we had already absorbed 22 orphans. Unfortunately, we lost three of the children. (One girl
of twelve years and two boys of six) who were suspected to have been born with AIDS.
Something had happened in my family before the death of those three
children. I had conflicts with my husband because the number of children was growing and the money in the supermarket was
going down. He said that, it wasn’t gong to be easy to feed the 22 children plus the 9 who belonged to our family. They
would soon die of hunger. He was so hot and told me that if I wanted to stay with the children, I should find another place
for them. On this point, I saw tears in his eyes and I understood that it had gone beyond what I could control.
He went to bed. I kept myself outside, praying and crying to God
to find for me a solution. Just as he was getting into a deep sleep, he had a dream about a young boy of around 13years calling
to him saying, “WHY” and the boy added, “why are you doing this to the children, pray that I don’t
get you. And as he looked there before him stood four hundred children in cream and maroon colour at the collar. All had bibles
in their hands and were heading into the church that had its roof touching the sky. As he followed the children he was crying.
But just as he got to the doorway he woke up. All happened as I heard him crying in his bed while sleeping. When he got up,
I asked him what the problem was but he didn’t answer.
In the morning, my husband called told me that he had a dream and
believed that God wanted us to stay with the children, that he was willing to stay with me and do this mission together with
me.
This time, I saw a changed husband who was ready to advise me on
what to do. I discussed the welfare of the orphans with husband who has been of great assistance. He advised me to approach
the government department concerned with children for acknowledgement and registration. In the year 2000 the orphanage was
registered in the names of Maama Orphans Children’s Home.
To date, God has blessed us with 57 Orphans and further 29 that
are being supported in their own villages. In the near future we would like to expand the Orphanage to 100 children.
God has been a blessing and a provider for these children
despite all the temptations.
On of the main stories
that l can’t forget in happened
one day when the children
didn’t have food. I cried out to the lord. What will the children eat? I had no money left. So I decided to sell the
family car. The plot of land that I had to run the home from was not enough so. I decided to the sell my clothes too. I was
very happy when I managed to raise 6,2000Kshs from the clothes I sold. This money took me for some time but since the family
was becoming big and the supermarket’s sells were coming down. So the money got finished. Then I got back to my suitcase
and I picked more clothes for sell, This time I went to Kisii town about 250Km from home. I tried to find people who could
be interested in the clothes but I didn’t get anybody so I tried churches. A pastor in one of the churches I went got
interested in the four of the clothes. He wanted to buy them for his wife. He paid 6,000Kshs in cash and told me to get back
to him in two weeks time for the balance. This pushed us on for some time but when the time came to pick the balance from
Kisii there was only 500KShs available. I decided to give 100KShs to my husband to buy sugar for porridge for lunch, the three
hundred was for my transport to Kisii town and 100KShs was the balance.
I traveled to Kisii town but by bad lack the pastor refused to come
and meet me up to around 3:00pm. At this time he was thinking that I had given up and left but to his surprise, he found me
there waiting because I didn’t have transport to Busia. On the sport he told me that he had no money. I cried before
him and told him to get for me some transport back. He said he didn’t have that either. He got in his car, and drove
off leaving me in tears because I didn’t know anybody in Kisii town who could help me out. I tried to look for help
but I couldn’t find any. I decided to enter a bus which was coming back to Busia. I gave the conductor 100KShs. He told
me that, he was to put me off the bus in between Kisii and Kisumu town that is about 150Kms from Busia. I decided to sell
my watch to reach Kisumu. It was getting dark and we arrived at Kisumu town at around 9:00pm. At this time there was no Bus
to Busia up to around 1:00am after midnight when the bus which travels from Nairobi
arrives at this point.
I had to wait. When the bus came, I got on board. At around 3:00pm,
the bus reached Busia. It was too dark and a heavy rainfall had started. The bus dropped me 200m from my home which wasn’t
the usual stage. The thieves saw the bus stopping. They thought that someone who was coming off the bus was from Nairobi and might be having some merchandise and money. Just as the
bus started off, They came running after me. I ran as fast as I could but because it was dark and rainy no one could hear
me crying for help. As I continued to run, I stumbled and fell down and rolled about four times. I broke my back. Security
officers from that area flashed their sport lights which helped to turn the thieves away. I was helped up to our home. I knocked
at the door and my husband opened it. He looked at me, with tears running down my cheeks, with blood allover my body and he
also cried. At long last I was at home, but without money. The next day, the children took porridge without sugar and this
took two more days. I made up my mind to take the children to church. At the church I told the children that, you very well
know that you don’t have father or mother, and there is no money to feed on. Now you have one Father “GOD”.
Cry to him and ask. Where is our food and what to drink? The children did as I told them and cried out to God. I also cried
out. God, why did you give me these children yet I don’t have money? And there is no food to feed them. And I said this
three times. You would have given these children to a rich person in Busia who would have been capable of taking care of them.
At that time, I was carrying two of the little ones and the other
little ones were sitting on my legs. My hand was on my chick and tears running down my chicks like rain. The sorrows and passions
within my soul made me cry like a child before God because I loved the children and I never wanted to chase them away.
After prayers we returned home. The next morning a
gentleman came crying with an envelope containing 4,000KShs and asked me to pray for him and the children too. In the evening
another man who works with livestock keepers came with one sack of maize. He said that he had a vision, someone was shouting
to him saying, “Why do you eat G-nuts and other good food while the children of Mama Orphans die of hunger. He wasn’t
a born again but he got the vision. That night I had a dream. A young man of about 14years was quarrelling with me. He said.
“Why ’ Why’ why do you have to complain”. He went on and told me. “From today onwards, you shouldn’t
complain again.” He then told me. “Take that boy”. I saw the boy and took him by hand. He again said. “Take
that pang” I saw the pang and I picked it too. Then he said. “Have no more complaints”. Be with faith because
I am with you. He told me to put off my shoes and follow him. At that moment, I found myself in a very thick forest called
Mabira which is in Uganda. 8Kms away from
Kampala. I used the pang to cut down what was in my way. The
boy who was a head of me had changed. This time he was very white with flashlight. He was moving at very a high speed but
I kept following him cutting trees a head of me. Two lions appeared in front of me and I shouted. But he came back with a
flash of light and told me to have faith. At that moment the lions disappeared. And then later a very big snake appeared in
front of me. I shouted again. But he came and this time said in a loud voice. “I don’t want people without faith”.
At that moment the snake moved away. We finished the forest. We finished the forest and he turned to me with a flash of light
and said. “I am with you always and I won’t leave you. Do not fear”.
Then he disappeared in the flash of light. The child that I had in my hand didn’t have any problem. Even when we passed
through all that. At this moment I woke up. From that day onwards, where we are without food, I don’t complain. I just
ask God to help me out. I have given my life to serve these orphans of yours God and my own children have been struggling
to get money to go to school because the little I get, I have to get food for children fast and then later school fees.
